The Institute for Research on Gambling Disorders is an independent program of the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG). Its mission is to advance understanding of gambling disorders through the support of rigorous scientific research and public education. Building a sound knowledge base about gambling disorders and an effective outreach program will lead to:
- improved methods of prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment;
- greater public understanding and compassion for people struggling with a gambling problem; and,
- more enlightened public health policy on gambling disorders.
