The Institute for Research on Gambling Disorders works with the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG) and several other partners to develop and support practical, science-based resources for increasing understanding and awareness about gambling disorders.
These programs include the annual NCRG Conference on Gambling and Addiction; EMERGE (Executive, Management and Employee Responsible Gaming Education), an online training program for gaming employees; the self-help guide Your First Step to Change and resources focused on youth gambling. The NCRG and the Institute also produce Issues & Insights, a monthly column on the latest news about gambling disorders and related topics. Read more about these resources by selecting them from the menu to the left.
The Institute also has played a key role in developing a number of other important resources for the NCRG, including the Increasing the Odds monograph series, which provides easy-to-understand summaries of important research on gambling disorders. More information about the monograph series and other resources are available on the NCRG’s Web site.
