Exploration Grants

The Exploration Grants program provides quick access to funding for researchers.  Applicants may request up to $5,000 in direct costs for a period not to exceed 12 months.

The Principal Investigator may apply for only one Exploration Grant per cycle. Funds can be used to support a broad range of activities including:

  • Pilot data to complete an initial but unfunded project.
  • Pilot data needed for preliminary results.
  • New direction on a current project not otherwise supported.
  • Funded projects that did not build costs into budgets for services previously free or subsidized that now carry a cost.

Please see the Funding Opportunities page for further information on eligibility and funding priorities.
