Seed Grants

The Seed Grants program supports small research projects that can be completed in one year. Applicants may request up to $25,000 in direct costs for a period not to exceed 12 months. The Principal Investigator may apply for only one Seed Grant per cycle. Seed Grants support a variety of research activities, including:

  • Pilot and feasibility studies.
  • Secondary analysis of existing data.
  • Small, self-contained research projects.
  • Development of research methodology.
  • Development of new research technology.

Current Funding Opportunities

The Institute expects to award approximately five Seed Grants in 2010. The application deadline for Seed Grants is July 1, 2010, and applicants will be notified about grant decisions by Sept. 1, 2010.
